Statement of Economic Interests (SEI) Program
Overview
In accordance with California state law, public agencies including LAUSD and other school districts are required to adopt and implement a Conflict of Interest (COI) Code to ensure that officials who make financial decisions on behalf of their agencies avoid conflicts between their personal and official capacities.
State law mandates that public agencies review all job positions and responsibilities where key financial decisions are made to determine which positons need to be included in the agency's COI Code. Agencies must then require the “designated employees” in those positions to file financial disclosure statements.
The Ethics Office is tasked with overseeing LAUSD's compliance with this requirement. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for our District’s filers to comply with this requirement.
