Along with a few other notable school districts, LAUSD is a pioneer in making a formal commitment to managing ethics in the K-12 environment.
Managing and cultivating ethics is a critical underpinning of good leadership and high performance. We have all read the newspaper articles about organizations that have been hurt by ethical challenges. As a consequence, new laws are increasingly calling for all organizations, whether public or private, to actively "promote an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct."
As you'll read below, our ethics initiative is designed to do the work of promoting ethical conduct and to help LAUSD both guard and strengthen our public's trust.

We want LAUSD to be a trusted organization, one which engenders the public and employees alike to give their utmost to support student achievement and success.
Our mission is to improve LAUSD performance by fostering high ethical standards and supporting our employees and leadership with the policies, processes, tools and advice necessary to exemplify conduct that strengthens public trust and confidence in the integrity of our work.
